First Home Buyer Victoria 2026
Victoria offers first home buyers a $10,000 grant on new builds, full stamp duty exemption on homes up to $600,000, and the federal First Home Guarantee with a price cap of $950,000 for Melbourne and Geelong. Here is everything available and how to combine your benefits.
Grants Available in Victoria
- First Home Owner Grant (FHOG): $10,000 for new homes valued up to $750,000
- New builds only. Established homes are not eligible for the FHOG in Victoria
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident aged 18 or over
- Must live in the property as your principal residence within 12 months
Stamp Duty Concessions
- Full stamp duty exemption on homes up to $600,000
- Sliding concession on homes between $600,001 and $750,000
- Above $750,000: standard duty applies
- Applies to both new and established homes
- Off-the-plan concession extended to 21 April 2027
